Sep 1, 2017Ramirez, 66, of Moline, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at her residence.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday August 31, 2017, at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be given to Autism Speaks or Genesis Hospice.Cheryl was born May 24, 1951, in Davenport, the daughter of Robert G. and Mildred “Jean” Miletich.She married Rick J. Ramirez on October 6, 1979, in Rock Island.Along with her husband, she was co-owner of Ramirez Consulting Group, Moline, serving as Operations Manager.Cheryl was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline. She was very active with the PTA at Garfield Elementary School, having served as secretary as well as serving on the board of the Autism Network of Western Illinois.She treasured her time working with families with children with autism. Cheryl was an informal mentor and advocate for families dealing with special needs issues.Survivors include her husband, Rick; a daughter, Ericka Ramirez, Kansas City, Kansas; son, Marcus Ramirez, Moline; siblings and spouses, Dr. Robert Miletich (Bonnie), Amy Miletich (Joseph Kovarik), Katherine Miletich (Dan Fernandez), James Miletich (Sian) and Tina Miletich (Shibu Nair). Other special family members include Cheryl’s aunt, Claire McKinzie; her cousins, Karen McKinzie, and Jean Miletich; and her in-laws, Helen Portillo, Fred Ramirez, Chris Arguello, and Gloria Osborn. Other loved ones include many nephews and nieces and cousins. Cheryl also shared her heart and home with two cats that never left her side. (Quad City Times)
